Marshall R. Sumrall was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in the Houston area. Marshall’s interest in law began long before he attended law school. He has always been fascinated by the law and in his spare time he enjoys studying case law and strategies to apply in court. He has previously served as an investigator for the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office, in Rockville, Maryland; a clerk of court for Harris County Court in Houston, Texas; and as a public defender in the Cortez and Pagosa Springs Municipal Courts, and the Tribal Court in Towaoc, Colorado. He is experienced in various fields of law including criminal, personal injury, civil disputes, estates, and probate.

Marshall’s diverse background in law brings unique insight into situations where different fields of law intersect. For example, auto accidents often result in both criminal charges and a personal injury claim. Experience in both of these areas provides a more comprehensive view of the actors and legal mechanisms in play. This can be a vital benefit to the client. Marshall utilizes professional contacts and collaborates with specialists and experts when necessary to achieve optimal results for a client. Ethan J. Sumrall was born in Houston, Texas and was raised in the Ozark Hills of rural Northern Arkansas. After high school, Ethan enlisted in the Army Reserve and attended the University of Arkansas. When a local judge guest lectured in one of his college classes, Ethan discovered his interest in the law, especially criminal law. After graduating college, Ethan commissioned as an officer in the Army and served on active duty, where he attained the rank of Captain. After honorably completing his military service, Ethan attended law school at the University of New Mexico. In law school he immediately sought out as much practical experience with real clients as he could find. He worked as a law clerk for the Spence Law Firm, one of the preeminent personal injury firms in the country. He also clerked for the New Mexico Public Defender’s Office, where he tried felonies as a student. Ethan graduated Magna Cum Laude and moved to Southwest Colorado in 2022 to join the Sumrall Law Office. Ethan takes a research and detail oriented approach to technical issues that are common in the practice of criminal and personal injury law.

In his free time, Ethan hunts, fishes, and spends time with his wife, Emily, and their daughter.
